Prospect — Dunmore Road matters for the exact reasons given in its official assessment, rather than merely because it is an old structure. The source records: An interesting house of two primary periods of construction, the earliest of which is of archaeological importance. The steep pitch to the roof, together with the corner buttresses, confirms the early date of the original block. With the exception of the inappropriate replacement fittings to the porch, together with a late twentieth-century range of little architectural merit, the house retains much of its early form and character, together with some important salient features and materials. This explains what the place adds to local life, the street or the surviving built history.
