The Post box in Lodgepark wears a raised crown to stand in the middle of Straffan accepting envelopes. Your aunt wore less to your wedding, and she thought she was the main attraction.

This cast-iron pillar post box, which is still in use, is an important feature in the rural landscape and is prominently sited in the centre of the village of Straffan. The raised royal cipher (and manufacturer's signature) is of considerable artistic merit. Its age and survival, however, together with its associations with Ireland as formerly part of the British Empire are of great historical and social importance.
