Wall-mounted cast-iron post box, installed c.1905, having curved cap. Raised lettering and royal insignia of King Edward.
This cast-iron post box, which is still in use, is an attractive item of street furniture and represents a notable surviving artefact of mass-produced cast-iron work. This early twentieth-century letter box is of a simple design, its insignia and crown a reminder of the Edwardian period in Ireland.
