Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Newcastle

In pasture. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; low rise visible to N, E and S may be remains of levelled bank. No visible surface trace of SW quadrant which lies in adjoining field. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
