Post box in Manorhamilton stands beside the former Methodist church with its lettering sticking proudly out of the iron. Even the writing is leaning forward to catch you after the service. ‘While I have you, there’s the small matter of your electricity bill.’

Cast-iron post boxes such as this are important elements of the social and urban fabric of towns. Although simple in design, the high-relief casting of the lettering is well executed.
