What is recorded here
Post-mounted cast-iron round-headed post box, erected c. 1940, with P & T insignia.
Notable example of early twentieth-century street furniture, with a simplicity and clarity of design typical of its time. Its functional nature is enhanced by neatly cast lettering. The use of Gaelic typescript is indicative of a date of installation after the foundation of the State.
