What is recorded here

Carrigkilter in County Cork, Ireland, held two earthen ringforts whose exact locations have been lost to time. Power recorded the remains in 1940, but the land has swallowed the markers. The fort name suggests fairies, yet human hands built the rings. Forgetting the shape is easier than remembering the makers.

According to Power (1940, 20) 'remains of two lioses' in this townland. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
