What is recorded here

Situated on a very slight rise in average pasture land overlooking a wide area of bog to the N & E. A stream flows to the N & NE of the site. The site is very overgrown and covered in scrub woodland making detailed examination impossible. Large roughly oval-shaped area (dims. 44m NW-SE; 58m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank mainly reduced to a high scarp (H 0.7-1.3m) which in places has been modified where it forms modern field boundaries. A shallow fosse probably part of the field boundary can be traced from N to E and from SW to WNW. The perimeter and part of the interior is badly overgrown with blackthorn bushes. The interior has slight remains of old cultivation ridges running NE-SW. In the NE part of the ringfort more modern cultivation ridges run NW-SE.
