Ogham stone in Kilmacnevan

Unlocated ogham stone possible within the townland of Kilmacnevan, the precise location of this monument has not been identified. Folklore collected at Irishtown National School in 1938 recorded the following details; 'Not far from our house is a fort called 'the Dandies'. It is called because there was a man called 'Dandy' killed in it by a Dane when they quarrelled. Every night a man is seen walking around it and if anyone went near him he would screech. There is a cave under the fort. One time a man went into the cave and there was a flat stone in the wall with Ogham writing on it. It is supposed that this is where the man is buried' (The Schools’ Collection, Volume 0742, Page 153).
