Flour mill complex, c.1775. In use as saw mill complex, 1902, including:(i) Detached five-bay four-storey building possibly originally with attic. Now in ruins. Pitched roof now gone with no rainwater goods surviving on ivy-clad squared rubble stone eaves. Random rubble limestone walls partly collapsed with dressed limestone quoins to corners. Camber-headed window openings with no sills, squared limestone voussoirs, and no fittings surviving. Single segmental arch culvert with squared limestone voussoirs. Set back from road in own grounds on bank of River Nore with overgrown grounds to site.(ii) Detached five-bay five-storey double-pile building with attic with single-bay five-storey side elevations continuing through single-bay five-storey linking bay into five-bay five-storey parallel range. Now in ruins. Pitched double-pile (M-profile) roofs now gone with no rainwater goods surviving on ivy-clad squared rubble limestone eaves. Random rubble limestone walls partly collapsed with dressed limestone quoins to corners, and sections of slate-hanging throughout. Camber-headed window openings (some square-headed window openings throughout) with no sills, squared limestone voussoirs (lintels to square-headed openings), and remains of timber casement windows.

Having origins in the mid to late eighteenth century the remains of a once-extensive flour mill complex, later a saw mill complex represent an important element of the industrial legacy of Maddockstown. Although now long disused many of the original composition attributes prevail including the regular distribution of small-scale openings producing a monolithic quality in the large-scale ranges. Set in overgrown grounds the complex remains a picturesque, if subtle feature of considerable Romantic quality in the rural landscape.
