What is recorded here

A large ringfort (diam. c. 60m) with trees growing around the perimeter and scrub in the interior. The edge of the SW-W sector has been encroached upon by plots associated with houses immediately S and NW of the monument. A public road runs roughly NW-SE between the ringfort and the medieval church (KK020-045001-) and graveyard (KK020-045002-) which is immediately SW of the road. Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 366) describes it as, 'a very fine moat-shaped rath, probably the "Black Rath" from which the church was formerly named'.
