Ruinous shell of detached two-bay three-storey water-powered corn mill, built c.1800, having two-storey rear elevation. Roof missing, gables remaining. Rubble stone walls. Square-headed openings with stone lintels, round-arch openings to front and rear elevations with dressed stone voussoirs. Internal water-wheel pit at south end, no machinery remaining. Situated on west bank of Fane River. The Great Northern Railway ran adjacent to the mill to west, mill is accessed under remaining railway bridge.

Although ruinous, this former mill retains evidence of its original form, with some evidence of skilled stone masonry. Mills were vital structures in Irish society and important for the economic life of local communities, and this provides a physical reminder of their role.
