What is recorded here
A mill is indicated and named on the Down Survey (1655-6) Barony map to the S of 'Bealgouly', the present day village of Belgooly. The precise location of this mill is not known but it may have been in the vicinity of the 19th-century flour mill (CO112-007----) at Belgooly. A small tower (CO112-067----) is shown a short distance to the N of the mill on the same map.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
