Freestanding cast-iron pole mounted road sign, erected c.1940, comprising rectangular sign with rounded corners having text and harp motif cast in relief.

This sign as a notable example of early twentieth-century street furniture. Its simplicity and clarity of its design is typical of its time. Its functional nature is greatly enhanced and emphasised by its quality casting using capital letters in a clear simple font without serifs. The harp motif indicates a date of installation after the foundation of the State.
