mill (water)2 ydExplorer Tom Mill in Lybe in Lybe is a six-storey ghost of a flour mill. Built in 1832, it’s now ruinous and probably full of bats. It used to be a distillery too, so imagine the mess. Take a pic of that carriage arch for me!
Belgooly HouseMill manager's house · 38 ydExplorer Tom Belgooly House in Lybe is a nine-bay mill manager's house from 1880 overlooking old flour mill ruins. It’s long and low and has returns that look like they’re hugging the road. It’s seen a lot of changes, but it’s still there keeping watch over the past.
Explorer Tom Old Fort is sitting on Kinsale Harbour like a grumpy grandpa. The Spanish strengthened it back in 1601, which feels ancient to me. Mind the private land, yeah?
Explorer Tom James' Fort in Kinsale is a pentagonal beauty from the early 1600s sitting right on the harbour. It looks like it’s waiting for a pirate party. Snap a photo of that castlepark peninsula view!
World War I MemorialMemorial · 3.0 miExplorer Tom World War I Memorial has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a memorial with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
Kinsale HarbourBay · 3.5 miExplorer Tom Kinsale Harbour has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a bay with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
Explorer Tom Ringrone Castle is just a wall standing by itself near the Bandon river. Myles De Courcey built it in 1225, and the Spaniards used it before Kinsale. It’s not much left, but it’s still got that de Courcy attitude. Wave at the wall!
Ringrone Castle (in Ruins)Castle, tower house · 3.8 miExplorer Tom Ringrone Castle in Castlelands, County Cork is just a fragment of a wall overlooking the Bandon river. Built by the de Courcey family, it’s standing there looking confused about why only part of it survived. Wave to the river mouth for me, it likes attention!
Nohaval CoveBeach / strand · 4.5 miExplorer Tom Nohaval Cove has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a beach / strand with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
Explorer Tom Sandy Cove Island has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a islet with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
