No visible trace remains, yet the depression in the centre of the Gurteenbeha ringfort marks a man-made underground passage. It vanished beneath soil and time, leaving only a slight hollow where human hands once cut through earth. What they hidden, lived or fled there is no longer certain, but the shape of the hole still points to the intent below.

In centre of ringfort (CO031-02102-). According to Bowman (1934, 68), a 'depression in the centre shows the site of a Man-made underground passage'. No visible surface trace.
