Man-made underground passage in Dromiskin — Report the wrong picture

Dromiskin’s underground passage is a man-made cavity tied to a local earthwork called the Mount. It is the kind of dark, narrow place people invent stories for because the shape suggests more than soil and stone. Whether it was a refuge, a boundary marker or a forgotten work of hands, the passage still asks to be walked carefully and judged slowly.

The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
