What is recorded here

Gateway, extant 1863, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of Irish battlemented rendered piers framing elliptical-headed opening with arrow head-detailed cast-iron double gates. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Macmine Castle.
A gateway forming part of a neat self-contained group alongside an opposing gate lodge (see 15703203) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the Macmine Castle estate.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
