The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Sub-circular platform (int. dims. 39m NE-SW, 36m NW-SE, H 3m) constructed around a natural rise, but artifically raised on W and enclosed by traces of much-degraded bank (Wth 4.8m, H 0.2m internally, 1.4m externally). Gap in bank at NE appears to be modern feature. Traces of fosse (Wth 8.5m, D 0.65m) at base of platform from NE-NNE. Man-made underground passage (LH007-016002-) in interior of site.
