Lios is a 42-metre fairy fort in Mid Cork where two roads bend around a living pasture. Its earthen bank still rises 2.6 metres, though men levelled part of it in 1985 and cut back the inner face elsewhere. The northern ditch became a laneway, and the southern entrance still faces the open country. Under the grass and traffic, the old ring keeps its shape, waiting for people who remember that forts belong to more than humans.

In pasture, in angle formed by two roads. Circular area (diam. 42m) defined by earthen bank (int. H 2.6m). Roadway skirts site to E and W; fosse surviving to N used as laneway linking both roads. Entrance to SSE. Bank levelled SE->SW in August 1985; elsewhere inner face of bank cut back and material dumped to outside.
