What is recorded here

Indicated is a small almost circular crannog in Lough Gowna, County Cavan, sitting eighty metres from the shoreline where a lakeside rath already marks the water’s edge. The island measures about fourteen metres across, narrow enough that a person could walk from one side to the other before forgetting which part was land and which was lake. It may have been a temporary dwelling, a ritual marker or a forgotten anchor for life on the water, but its distance from the shore suggests it belonged to someone willing to leave the known world behind.
