Hachured on the 1841 edition of the OS 6-inch map. A circular area (diam. c. 33m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 2.3m, int. H c. 0.3m, ext. H c. 0.9m) from NW-N, and elsewhere by a scarp. Traces of an external fosse (Wth c. 3m) survive from E-S and from NW-N. No evidence of original entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
