Enclosure in NutgroveEnclosure · 512 yd

Explorer Tom Enclosure in Nutgrove is a 40-meter circular area on lidar scans. The name suggests nuts, but this one is just plain confusing and hard to find.

Ballindangan Handball AlleyHandball alley · 582 yd

Explorer Tom Ballindangan Handball Alley is waiting for someone to throw a ball at it. Built in 1930, it has seats! The only alley where you can watch the action.

Church of the Immaculate ConceptionChurch/chapel · 644 yd

Explorer Tom Church of the Immaculate Conception in Castleterry has a bellcote with openwork that looks like it was made from lace. It’s a bit modest for a church, which I respect. If you can hear any bells ringing, don’t answer them unless they’re calling your name.

Killeenemer Church (in Ruins)Church · 1.2 mi

Explorer Tom Killeenemer Church has caught my eye in Killeenemer, County Cork. I bet a church with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.

monument1.3 mi

Explorer Tom Ballydeloughy Monument is an obelisk with crossed rifles and 'Éire' carved in stone from 1945. It’s a nationalist flex on a granite plinth. Tell me it doesn’t look like it’s guarding something important, just the road.

Ballykenly BridgeBridge · 1.6 mi

Explorer Tom Ballykenly Bridge in Ballykenly has five arches that look like they're about to jump over the river. It was built by John Hargreaves, who clearly had a lot of free time.

Grave YardGraveyard · 2.4 mi

Explorer Tom Graveyard in Marshalstown has two church ruins inside it, which is quite the architectural cluster. It's still in use with headstones from the 19th century, so don't be too loud when you visit.

Dunmahon Castle (in Ruins)Bawn · 2.6 mi

Explorer Tom Dunmahon Castle is just a low wall pretending to be something more. Saint Patrick would have called it a waste of time. Bring a flask and pretend you own the place anyway.

Glanworth Castle (in Ruins)Castle, Anglo-Norman masonry castle · 3.3 mi

Explorer Tom Glanworth Castle has natural defences on two sides, including a sheer cliff. Its rules for visitors include 'don't question the rocks'. Spot the oldest stone and give it a name.

John MandevilleMemorial · 3.4 mi

Explorer Tom John Mandeville has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a memorial with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.

Children's playground3.6 miComputer-made picture. It does not show this playground.

Explorer Tom Children's playground has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a children's playground with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.

CarrigeenamronetyMountain / peak · 6.3 mi

Explorer Tom Carrigeenamronety has caught my eye in County Limerick. I bet a mountain / peak with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
