What is recorded here

Located on a low rise in a low-lying undulating landscape. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 41m NE-SW; 38m NW-SE) defined by a slight earthen bank that is largely reduced to a scarp (at SE: H 1.2m) and hedge. There is no visible fosse, but the entrance (Wth of base 2.5m) is at SSE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 28 August 2017
