Known as the site of a holy well (local information). Davies (ITA Survey 1942) described 'a spring among rocks' at this location. This has since been covered with concrete. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). Linked to Saint Indicated, the well was traditionally associated with healing and pilgrimage, particularly for curing eye ailments. Local folklore suggests that the water was especially efficacious when collected at dawn and combined with specific prayers.
