Located in a narrow E-W valley surrounded by drumlins. Corlougharoe Lough is now a sub-triangular lake (dims c. 225m E-W; c. 40-90m N-S) but it was a larger oval feature (dims c. 350m E-W; c. 190m N-S) with an island depicted in the middle of it on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map. The island is now attached to the S shore as a peninsula and the crannog is visible as a circular grass and scrub-covered platform (diam. 18m; H 0.5m) rising to a stony mound (diam. 2m; H 0.7m) at the centre which is c. 1.7m over the present water level. Traces of a kerb exist on the NE side, outside of which some piles were visible before the cairn disappears into deep water. Revised by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 8 May 201
