What is recorded here

Situated on a level landscape. This house is represented on the 1835 and 1907 OS 6-inch map as an occupied house and is probably eighteenth century in date, but it was roofless in 1999 (SMR file). It is a rectangular one storey structure (ext. dims 17.2m E-W; 6.55m N-S) with attics at the E and W gables. It is built with masonry walls, and survives complete except the S wall which had been largely removed. It was of five bays, one a doorway on the N side, with timber lintels, now removed, in the window embrasures. There were small fireplaces in each gable. It had been removed by 2012 (OSAP).

Explorer Tom Monument in Cloonageeher is secretly proud of the potato it grew before becoming a statue of a very serious Lord Baltimore. It stands on a hill looking ornate and slightly confused about why it’s there. Ring your granny and tell her you saw a fancy rock.

J. ReynoldsHouse · 1092 yd

Explorer Tom J. Reynolds has a pubfront with ceramic lettering that still smells faintly of old Guinness and regret, plus a cow once tried to buy it but got stuck in the doorframe. The timber panels are sharp. Wave at it and keep walking quickly.

Johnston's BridgeBridge · 1162 yd

Explorer Tom Johnston's Bridge in Cloonageeher has a secret talent for holding two different centuries at once. The old arches are there, hiding from the new wide span. Best visited with a curious kid and no fear of falling into history.

Explorer Tom Lebanon Cedar in County Longford is guarding a secret tunnel to the local pub. I swear it leads straight to the bar, but nobody believes me. Spot the oldest stone and give it a name.

Common Lime3.8 mi

Explorer Tom Common Lime bragged about surviving a storm that flattened everything else in its path. It’s just a tree with an ego problem and great leaves. Bring a friend who talks too much and let the place shut them up.
