What is recorded here

Indicated is a small oval crannog in Lough Sheelin, County Cavan, measuring about 28 metres east-west and 12 metres north-south. It sits 100 metres from the shoreline and resisted mapping on the 1836 and 1876 Ordnance Survey sheets, emerging only in later editions. That delay suggests the lake kept its own secret, hiding a place people may have lived, forgotten or deliberately withheld from official sight.
