Detached three-bay single-storey with dormer attic house, built c.1900, having porch to side (west) and flat-roofed extension to rear (south). Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystack, uPVC rainwater goods and cast-iron downpipe. Rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with stone sills and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening with glazed timber door. Rendered enclosing wall with square-profile gate piers to front (north) of site with wrought-iron pedestrian gate. Pitched roofed outbuilding to rear within small yard. Set within own grounds.

Modest in design and small in stature, houses such as this were built by the Land Commission to improve living conditions in rural areas in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. These houses were situated on an acre land to allow for some self sufficiency. Located on the main Cork to Killarney road this relatively intact example is pleasant feature in the landscape.
