Holy Well

A well, said to cure eye ailments, situated under bushes in pasture. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. Linked to an unspecified saint, the Holy Well at Kiltown is traditionally associated with the cure of eye ailments. Pilgrims would often visit the site, using the water for washing or drinking as part of a healing ritual.
