Marked on the 1910 'OS 6-inch' map as 'Toberdoney'. The OS Letters refer to a well called Tobar Domhnaigh at which a station was held in the 1830's (CLAJ 7, 1929, 60).

Linked to Saint Domhnaigh, the well, known as Tobar Domhnaigh, was a site of pilgrimage in the 19th century, with a recorded station held there in the 1830s. The name suggests a tradition of healing or spiritual significance, common to many early Christian holy wells in Ireland.
