Holy well in Ballybrack, County Carlow: St Molaing’s water, now disturbed and dry. The site still carries the shape of devotion even though the flow has gone. What remains is a hollow marker, waiting for rain or memory to fill it again.

The holy well in Ballybrack is associated with Saint Brigid and was traditionally visited for its supposed healing properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and general well-being. It was a site of pilgrimage and seasonal rituals, with customs including the leaving of coins and clooties as offerings.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
