What is recorded here

Cairn holds two stone heaps in County Carlow, a long twelve-metre ridge and a smaller four-metre circle beside it. They are not decorative; they mark a dead person, a boundary or a gift remembered through stone. The long heap may have wrapped a body or carried fire for someone gone. The small circle may have marked a name, a family or a promise kept. Together they suggest a place where people returned, tended the stones and kept memory alive.

A long cairn, possibly Neolithic in date, aligned NE-SW with a smaller sub-circular cairn to the north; its function may relate to funerary or ritual use, typical of megalithic traditions in Ireland.
