Freestanding cast-iron water pump, c.1860, now disused. Comprising cylindrical shaft with raised horizontal banding, fluted ogee-domed cap, acorn finial and cow tail style handle. Set back from road in concrete with stone wall to rear.

This water pump forms an important part of the historical fabric of Ballintober as it once provided a water supply to the village. As such it is a socially significant structure within the village. Though a modest piece of street furniture, it exhibits artistic detailing in its design, thus enlivening its form.
