Gates in Tinnycross have a roadside wall whose top stones stand on end. Every stone underneath gets to lie down; the top row looks like it arrived late to Mass.

This structure is a good example of the once prolific, but increasingly rare, traditional method of constructing boundary walls. Replacement or modern boundary walls are frequently built with less attention paid to stone masonry traditions. The boundary wall is an attractive feature on the side of the road on the approach road in to the village from the north-east.
