Gallán is a rectangular standing stone in County Cork, Ireland, rising 1.53 metres on an east-facing pasture slope. Its long axis points northwest to southeast, catching morning light and casting shadow across the grass. People may have set it there to mark a boundary, honour a loss, or simply watch the sun move. The stone still performs that quiet job, unchanged while the world around it forgets.
