No visible gate, no central building trace, and a mysterious inner hollow: the fort in Ballinree and Ballymoat still keeps its shape on a low ridge, with a thin earth bank, a southern scarp, and a shallow outer ditch. cattle may have passed around it for generations while people forgot how to name its rooms. The missing outer bank and hidden entrance suggest a place made for watching, waiting, or being remembered only in story.

On a low ridge in pasture. A raised circular area (diam. c. 38m) defined by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.8m; H 0.2-0.3m), except at S where the defining element is a scarp (H 1m), and an external fosse (Wth 2-3m; D 0.4m). A report in 1977 (SMR file) recorded fragmentary remains of a low outer bank, which is no longer identifiable. The original entrance is not recognisable.
