Fairy forts are earthen rings people once lived in or feared. In Ballinookery, a circular bank and ditch marked the slope before ploughing removed them. The land still holds the shape beneath soil and crop, waiting for rain or patience to reveal what hands already took away.

In tillage, on SE-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; no visible surface trace of site. Circular enclosure visible as cropmark of bank and external fosse in aerial photograph (GSIAP, W409). Recorded by Bowman (1934, 25) as levelled single-ramparted fort (diam. c. 31yd) in W.
