Man-made underground passage in Dromrastill,woodpark — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

No visible surface trace remains, yet depressions inside and outside the Dromrastill ringfort suggest a buried passage cut through the south side. The earth swallowed the entrance, but the indentations still mark where people once disappeared beneath the ground. What is hidden there may be a chamber, a trapdoor or a forgotten way of entering the fort without being seen.

In ringfort (CO032-024---). Bowman (1934, 23) noted that 'depressions in the interior and exterior of the fort, on the south side, indicate that entrance was by means of a Man-made underground passage'. No visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
