Enclosure in Istalea Upper

In rough boggy pasture, on the SW-facing slope of Knockanaguish Hill. A circular area (14.8m N-S; 14m E-W) defined by a collapsed, grass-covered, drystone wall (T 1m). The wall consists of an inner and outer row of contiguous upright slabs with a fill of smaller stones in between. The wall is best preserved NNW-NNE and is in a more collapsed state (int. H 0.3m) NNE-NNW. There is an entrance (Wth 1.5m), defined by an upright stone (H 0.95m; 1.15m x 0.5m), at E. The S portion of the interior is raised (H 0.6m) and the N portion is cut (D 0.5m) into the upslope to compensate for the hillslope. However, the interior retains a gentle slope down to the S. Relict field boundaries (KE084-008002-) radiate from the wall externally at S, at N and immediately SE of the entrance stone.
