What is recorded here

On a low rise in pasture, c. 15m to the E of a stream. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. A report in 1987 (SMR file) recorded that, although largely levelled, fragmentary traces of a bank of earth and stone with a possible internal fosse, enclosing a circular area (diam. c. 34m), were still distinguishable. The original entrance may have been at E. More levelling has since occurred. The monument is divided into two unequal portions by a NW-SE field boundary. The larger portion, to the NE, is marked by a shallow depression. The smaller portion is marked by a low, irregular rise. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 26 August 2011
