Detached L-plan four-bay two-storey former country house, built c.1840, having recent porch with balcony to front (south) elevation and gable-fronted single-storey block to rear (north). Now in use as private house. Hipped artificial slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, timber eaves course and uPVC rainwater goods. Overhanging roof to rear with timber soffit. Rendered balustrade to porch balcony. Painted roughcast walls with smooth render to porch. Square-headed openings having replacement four-over-four (south elevation), three-over-three (east elevation) and one-over-one (porch) timber sliding sash windows with stone and concrete sills. Square-headed openings to rear (north) having replacement two-over-two and three-over-three timber sliding sash and uPVC casement windows with stone and concrete sills. Recessed round-headed door opening with replacement fanlight and timber panelled door, flanked by timber panelled reveals and recent fluted pilasters having limestone stepped approach. Square-headed door openings to side (east and west) elevations of northern block having stone lintels and replacement timber glazed doors. Square-headed door opening to rear (north) with replacement double-leaf timber glazed doors and overlights. Square-headed door opening to first floor of front (south) elevation with replacement double-leaf door. Converted outbuildings to side (west) with carriage arches abutting side (west) elevation.
The well balanced façade of this house is representative of the classically inspired style often employed in Ireland in the nineteenth century for middle sized houses. Though some original fabric has been replace, it nonetheless retains much of its historic character.
