What is recorded here

Situated within the graveyard (ME006-056003-) of the medievel parish church of Siddan. This is a sandstone cross-slab (Wth 0.5m; H 1.1m) with a latin cross (Wth 0.45m; H 0.46m) in relief (Wth 7cm) on one face. Date likely to the early medieval period, possibly 8th to 10th century. The cross-slab may have served as a funerary monument or Christian symbol, reflecting early Christian practice in the region.
