Situated on level pasture land to the SW of the Church at Clonca. A stone, wheeled cross-slab (DG012-002009-) came from the same field as a standing stone (DG012-001001-). The cross-slab has been removed for safety. It is very similar to a slab set into the wall at the entrance to Fahan graveyard (DG038-013004-). The site is located in generally good land sloping slightly to the S where there is an extensive area of bogland. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. Likely dating to the early medieval period, the cross-slab may have served a Christian commemorative or waymarking function. Its association with a nearby standing stone suggests a possible prehistoric or early Christian ritual or territorial context.
