Located towards the S end of a low N-S ridge. A stone-lined cist (dims c. 0.9m x c. 0.6m; D c. 0.4m) containing a bowl food vessel with a cremation was discovered in 1934 during the removal of a cairn (LE033-049001-) (NMI file). The cist was preserved in situ, but it is not visible now at ground level. There is a detailed account of the discovery in the Schools Manuscripts from Drumeen school (IFC: Schools Collection, vol. 0220, 183-4). A stone-lined cist dating to the Early Bronze Age, associated with cremation burial practices. Its discovery provides evidence of funerary rituals and pottery traditions in the region during the first millennium BC.
