Aldridge (1969, 86) recorded the tradition that there was a church had once stood in Largan Beg townland 'on the flat ground on the right bank of the Owenmore, 200 yds [c. 180m] SW of the burial ground [MA027-001001-].’ There is no visible trace of a church in this area and its exact location remains unknown.
