Cairnfield in Coumaraglinmountain

Situated on a gentle W-facing, heather-covered slope on the floor of the SE-NW Monavar valley. About 110 clearance cairns cover an area of c. 7ha. The cairns (diams. 3-5m; max. H 0.5m) are placed 10m to 30m apart, and it extends SW of the stream in the area of the field system (WA023-066049----). (Moore 1995, 194, 225, 240, A2) This monument forms part of the national monument complex at Coumaraglinmountain (National Monuments (Preservation) Order No. 4 of 1996).
