Cairn

Situated on a col below Carrickaruppera rock outcrop, c. 300m to the N and an area of rock outcrop c. 100m to the SE. A heather-covered cairn (dims. 10.8m E-W; 9.5m N-S; H 0.5-0.9m) with a depression at the centre revealing a large slab (dims. 1.1m x 0.75m) which may be the lintel of a cist. A ring-cairn (WA014-009002-) is c. 30m to the N. It was damaged by forestry operations in 1993, but the area remains unplanted. (Moore 1995, 199-200, J1) Moore, M.
