In May 1992, a cable trench on a gentle slope in Ballyterrim opened a quiet door for two adults and a child, but the men backfilled it before anyone could witness the dead. Burnt clay and scattered bones remained, suggesting a fire had touched the place or the living had marked it in haste. The trench took the bodies back into darkness, leaving only a shallow wound in the pasture and a question about who they were.

On a gentle SW-facing slope in pastureland, c. 120m W of a stream. Discovered in May 1992, at a depth of 0.3-0.5m, while digging an ESB cable trench. A number of skeletons were discovered, possibly two adults and a child. When inspected the trench had been backfilled and all that survived were a number of human bone fragments and traces of burnt clay (Topgr. Files, OPW).
