Single-span iron railway bridge over road, opened 1853, possibly originally single-arch. Coursed tooled cut-limestone walls with rock-faced cut-limestone quoins leading to coursed rock-faced cut-limestone abutment walls having cut-limestone stringcourse supporting limestone ashlar parapets. Single iron span on iron girders with iron parapets having coping supporting railings. Sited spanning road with grass banks to road.

A modest-scale bridge forming an important element of the railway transport heritage of County Kilkenny on account of the associations with the development of the Waterford and Limerick Branch of the Great Southern and Western Railway line by the Waterford and Limerick Railway Company. Exhibiting the high quality stone masonry associated with such projects the aesthetic appeal of the bridge is enlivened by the combination of tooled limestone with robust rock-faced dressings.
